Guidelines
Artist of the Month Guidellines
The Gallery Committee met and has decided on the following guidelines for selecting Artist of the Month for
2010:
Preference will be given to members who have NOT been AOM in the preceding 12 months.
Artists must have shown in two gallery exhibits in the last 12 months.
IF you have not shown in two gallery exhibits in 2009, you will need to schedule and PRE-PAY for two gallery exhibits in advance for 2010 to ensure you will meet the requirements to qualify for AOM in 2010.
If you have any questions, please contact: Angela Lexow, (785) 783-7444
email: alexow@cox.net
Tammy Patterson, (785) 267-1491

The Gallery Committee reserve the right to schedule 2D and 3D artists in the same month.
Artist of the Month Benefits
Now the fun begins.
The Art Guild of Topeka Gallery wants to help you make the most of your exposure and sell
the most art possible while you are the Artist of the Month. To do that, we will need your
cooperation.
Newsletter
You will get a front page spread on the Art Guild’s newsletter. We will publish a photo and
biography of you. To make that happen, you will need to provide the Art Guild with a digital
photo of yourself and write a one page autobiography as you’d like to see it done. This must
be submitted by the 10th of month before your month to newsletter editor and the gallery e-
mail address.
Postcards
The Art Guild will pay postage and mail postcards out to its patron list and anyone in your
client, friends and family mailing list. To make that happen, you will need to print 200 postcards.
Ideally, the postcard should feature one of your art pieces and have your name as Artist of
the Month on it. The postcards should say name of show, time of reception, that there is 10%
discount on First Friday plus the days and times the gallery is open if space is available.
Address those you want going to your clients, family and friends. Drop these by the Art Guild
by the 20th of the month before your month as Artist of the Month. Guild members will
address the remaining ones from the Guild’s patron list and mail them.
Art Presentation
The Art Guild will provide a minimum of an 8 by 8 wall for the hanging of your works. There
may also be some additional easels etc. if needed. Bring in enough paintings to fill the 8 by 8
wall on the appointed date before the first of the month, please check with Angela Lexow 785-
783-7444, or current hanging chair person for the date.
Working together we can maximize your exposure in town and get as
many people out to the showing as possible.
