Outside Opportunites
Secretary of State Building- Members have the opportunity to show at the Secretary of State administration offices downtown. (120 SW 10th) This will be an ongoing exhibit that will be rotated every 4 months. The size of the framed artwork should be approximately 20” x 28” or smaller. This is preferred due to wall space. They require screw eyes and and wire hanger to be secure. Sawtooth hangers are not allowed. There will be no commission taken from any sales. The next rotation will be the end of March 2010. Priority will be given to artists who enter one of the two next gallery exhibits (Dec/Jan and Feb/March shows). ARTWORK WANTED
Eyewear Unique (Huntoon & Gage) would like artwork for their store. Please contact them if you are interested.

This year’s India Fest will be raising funds for the YWCA and wants art to auction off – but you will get paid! The theme for the art must be “India.” It can be modern, landscapes, fl oras or anything that evokes the spirit of India and can be in any medium and of any size. The committee wants a statement of what you will be doing for the festival by the end of May – a couple of lines will do such as “24 x 36 oil of an elephant on canvas.” This is to let them know what to expect. The art will be auctioned off at a 160 seat black tie dinner to be held in August. So the artwork must be done by August 1st. Contact Hasna Salam at hasna_sal@yahoo.com to let them know what you are doing..
The artist will assign a reasonable value in advance to each work that he/she donates, and receive 50% of that amount in return when/if the piece is sold. This “asking” price for each work will either be listed or not during the auctioning process, and the arrangement for rewarding the artist will be a private matter between the sponsoring charitable organization and the donors of the art works themselves. If the auction should result in a work being sold for a greater amount than the “asking” price, the artist would nevertheless still receive only 50% of that original asking price. Should the work not bring the asking price, the piece goes back to the artist.”
