2026 Artist of the Month March Miranda Easton |
| I am an artist originally from Scottsdale, Arizona, who grew up in rural Northeast Kansas. I developed my creativity at a young age and began selling artwork as a child. My work blends surrealism with keen observation, drawing inspiration from artists such as Salvador DalĂ, Frida Kahlo, Georgia O’Keeffe, Artemisia Gentileschi, and Thomas Hart Benton My art often explores the relationship between nature and humanity, using imagery such as trees, hearts, water, and twin figures to express complex ideas about life, choices, and consequences. I invite viewers to reflect on the human experience and question their perceptions. In March, I will be bringing "The 'I Am' Series" to First Friday. This series explores themes of identity, self-reflection, and the five stages of grief—denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance—through symbolic imagery and expressive, surreal elements. Each piece reflects on loss, healing, and transformation, capturing the emotional complexity of grief while offering a sense of hope and resilience. |
