ARTIST OF THE MONTH CONNIE ENGLISH I grew up loving art. I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with honors at Kansas State University. After graduating I continued to study the artistic expressionist art of other artists and traveled nationally and internationally experimenting with various techniques of color display and method style. I eventually found an opportunity to instruct others in how they might be able to expand their own gifts through the artistry of canvas and painting. I have conducted private exhibitions at several venues. My work has been exhibited at the John McEnroe Gallery in New York City. Three of my paintings hung in the World Trade Center and three other paintings at the AT&T building on Broadway Street in New York. My work was displayed in Taos, New Mexico and for five years was on display at the Blumenshine Museum sift shop in Taos, N.M. The Wichita Arts Museum gift shop was home to many of my paintings until it no longer remained open to living artists. My art has been in print in all states in the U.S from 1988 to presently. Green Frog Art through the Artist Magazine, recognized and distributed lithographs of four paintings during the mid l990s. My work is nationally known, and I competed in many international shows over the years. I have received numerous awards throughout my artist career. Monetary Award for Watercolor, Taos, N.M., Kansas Watercolor Award, Wichita, Ks., Five Monetary awards, International Show, Minneapolis, Minn., Monetary Honorable Mention award, Southwind Gallery, Topeka, Ks., 1 st Place Display Award, Brookwood Shopping Center, Topeka, Ks.
