Artist of the Month: October 2023: Kathleen Cobb

Capturing the beauty of the Kansas landscape and the American West is the main focus of my paintings, paying special attention to the light in each scene.

My first love is painting in oils, but I also work in acrylics, pastels, and photography. I enjoy traveling and taking photos, and I especially love the backroads. My time spent out in nature is always enjoyable.

I’m a life-member of the Topeka Art Guild, and I have shown my work in local and regional exhibits. I have taken many workshops by regional artists and nationally-known artists, as well. I attended Washburn University in Fine Arts and Anthropology.

I’ve received awards from the Kansas State Fair, Paint America National Tour, Paint the Parks National Tour, Kansas Artists Postcard Series, plus numerous awards in local and regional juried shows.

The Topeka Art Guild supports and promotes the visual arts and art education through public programs and exhibitions of original work.
