Our Mission

Since 1916, the Topeka Art Guild has been dedicated to connecting artists and the community through the power of visual art. For more than a century, we have inspired creativity, encouraged artistic excellence, and made art accessible through exhibitions, education, and community programs.

Our mission is to promote and support the visual arts and arts education by providing public programs, original art exhibitions, scholarships, and creative opportunities that enrich lives and strengthen our community.

Fostering the next generation of artists is one of our greatest commitments. For more than 41 years, the Topeka Art Guild has awarded scholarships to local high school artists, helping talented students continue their artistic education and pursue their creative goals. We believe that every young artist deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and share their unique voice.

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsor Jamie Hornbaker / State Farm Agent, we are expanding that commitment with a new program that provides art supplies and creative resources to young artists and art teachers, helping ensure that financial barriers do not stand in the way of creativity and learning.

The Topeka Art Guild also provides emerging artists with the opportunity to experience the excitement and professionalism of exhibiting their work in a gallery setting. Through exhibitions, classes, workshops, and community events, we create a welcoming space where artists of all ages can learn, create, connect, and inspire one another.

Every scholarship awarded, every class offered, every exhibition presented, and every young artist encouraged is made possible through the generosity of our members, donors, sponsors, and volunteers. Together, we are preserving our artistic heritage while investing in the creative future of our community—one artist at a time.
