About The Guild

The Topeka Art Guild and Galley (TAG) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization providing encouragement, education and a forum for the appreciation of the arts.

Founded more than 100 years ago, Topeka Art Guild is a membership association which strives to support the arts with:

  • Encouragement to artists through collaboration and interaction
  • Educational opportunities, workshops, lectures and discussion groups
  • Annual scholarship to a local high school graduate entering college with an arts major.
  • An art facility where members can come to network and broaden their creative experiences
  • A Gallery where the community can appreciate the visual arts through exhibits and community projects
  • Engagement for member artists to provide their expertise, works, volunteer time and personal donations to support the Guild and other area nonprofits.

Membership is available to both artists and those wishing to provide support for the guild and its mission. Guild membership has various levels of contribution and benefits:

  • Regular membership meetings to interact with other artists
  • Advanced notices of all shows and events
  • Opportunity to exhibit at the Galley
  • Advanced notice and discounts on art classes and workshops
  • Networking Opportunities
  • Volunteer Opportunities


The Mission

Since its inception in 1916, Topeka Art Guild members have worked to build bridges between those who create art and those who can benefit from the joy art brings.  Topeka Art Guild’s mission is to promote and support the visual arts and arts education through public programs, scholarships and original art exhibitions.


About The Gallery

Topeka Art Guild now has a beautiful gallery conveniently located at the west end of Fairlawn Plaza Mall.  The Gallery features:

  • 2D and 3D works from member artists and invited guests including; paintings, drawings, photography, textiles, jewelry, glass, pottery and multimedia works;
  • Displayed art from area high school students (during the school year);
  • Meeting and workshop space where guild members, renowned local, regional and nationally known artists present art classes and workshops on all aspects of art.

The Art Guild Gallery is a perfect forum for local artists needing a gallery to display and sell their original works to the public. All the art work comes from established to inspiring artists using various art mediums such as paintings, glass-ware, and pottery. Our gallery exhibits approximately 25 artists, and new art work is on display every two months. Topeka Art Guild also features one Artist of the Month.

We invite you to visit regularly to meet the artists and view the changing selection of original artwork on display.  Learn about TAG membership - one benefit of which is the opportunity to display your work in The Gallery.

Wednesday through Saturday 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Thursday Evening Hours 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

First Friday 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM

The Galley is available for private group viewings and is open other hours for special events and upon special request.
