  • In this course we will cover:
discussing the various software options that are available.
What can you do with photoshop and similar software. Photoshop is a powerful toolset, whether you’re a professional or just having fun with creativity. Software like Photoshop and other image-editing programs are incredibly versatile. Here are some ways the software is used for:
Photo Editing & Retouching: Fixing blemishes, adjusting lighting, and enhancing colors to make photos look flawless.
Graphic Design: Creating everything from logos to social media graphics and marketing materials.
Digital Art & Illustration: Drawing and painting digitally with layers, brushes, and advanced techniques.
Composite & Manipulation: Combining multiple images to create surreal or realistic compositions.
Restoration & Colorization: Bringing old, damaged photos back to life and even adding color to black-and-white images.
3D Design & Texturing: Some programs allow for 3D modeling and texturing to create realistic effects.
Video Editing & Animation: While not their primary use, some software supports video editing and motion graphics.
Web & UI Design: Creating website mockups, app interfaces, and other digital layouts.
Print & Publishing: Designing flyers, brochures, book covers, and anything meant for physical print.
We will talk about the various elements that you will find in this type of software like layers, brushes, selection tools, Fonts, Dodge and burn tools, filters, shapes, transformation tools, etc. You will find that there are similarities across the various platforms.
We will run through the following exercises:
    Enhancing/editing Photos.
Creative Designs using Fonts and Words.
    Using Filters
Taking an image of a drawing, bringing it into photoshop (or other software), Cleaning it up, using color, gradients, filters and other tools to create a digital design.
We will create a digital "collage"
We will have an exercise that covers the topics of Print & Publishing.
This class will not include 3-d design or animation. These are topics for a more advanced class. But we will briefly discuss what is possible in those areas. Web & UI Design will be briefly discussed but would be better for a more advanced topic than what this class will focus on. AI will be briefly mentioned, but will not be a focus topic.
