2025 Spring Show Prospectus


Subject/title: Flora and Fauna

Juror: Michael Mize

Exhibition Dates: April 2 – May 30                      Entry Date: Sun. Mar. 30, 2:00-4:00 p.m.

Eligibility: All Kansas artists                                   Pick-up: May 31 (or if you enter June-July show, you can pick up on Entry Day, June1)

All works (2D or 3D) must: 1) have been completed within the last 24 months; 2) have a theme of “Flora & Fauna:” 3) have not been shown before at the Art Guild; 4) be original work by entry artist; and 5) not have been done in a class or workshop.

Prizes: $200 for 1st place; $100 for 2nd place; $50 for 3rd place; Four Honorable Mention ribbons.

Fees: $15 (plus $30 for non-members) for the first piece, and $10 for each additional piece, with a limit of 3 pieces, as space allows. Student fees are $5 per piece with a limit of 3 pieces. Entry fees are not refundable.

Presentation: Art must be presented with an entry form and the entry fees, paid to the Topeka Art Guild, at this time, unless prior arrangements have been made to bring early. All 2D entries must be appropriately framed or gallery-wrapped and have hanging wire properly secured on the back. 3D art shall not exceed 48” in any direction; must be pre-assembled and stable without outside support. Art found to not meet requirements w

ill not be accepted into the show, and entry fees will not be refunded.

Sales: All entries must be available for sale. The Art Guild will retain a commission of 45% (or 30% commission plus 12 hours of staffing the Gallery).

Liability: While utmost care will be taken in handling of all art works entered, the Topeka Art Guild shall not assume liability for any loss and/or damage to art work entered. All people working with this exhibition shall be held blameless for all liabilities arising from this exhibit.

Advertising: The Art Guild shall have the right to reproduce any work for the purpose of advertising online, in our newsletter, or in the newspaper.

The views expressed in the art are an expression of the individual artist and not

necessarily those of the Topeka Art Guild as an organization.

Michael Mize Bio

Michael Mize has been passionately dedicated to making art for most of his life.  He has also had the privilege of teaching art professionally for the past 27 years, both at the high school level and now as the sole proprietor of Mize Art Studio. He offers weekly classes for kids, teens and adults.  He has been fortunate to be a part of numerous murals and public artworks in the Topeka community, as well as various large scale art projects and creative sermon series in a variety of churches throughout the Midwest.  Michael is primarily a painter and illustrator, and his own artwork exclusively focuses on aspects of his Biblical faith.  You can see his   work and learn more about his classes at: www.mizeartstudio.com
